How to set up a system proxy in Windows 7

Go to Start
Click on Start

Type "control panel" in the search field and press "Control Panel" in the results

Type "proxy" in the search field and press "Internet Options" in the results
Type proxy in the search box, click on Internet Options

Press "Connections" in the menu and then press "LAN settings"
Click on Connections, click on LAN settings

Check "Use a proxy server for your LAN". Enter IP and port of a proxy server. Press "OK" button
Check Use a proxy server for your LAN, enter IP and port, click on OK
That's it! After that you'll probably see a username/password prompt in your browser. Just enter your credentials and you're good to go. All browsers save username and password by default, so you won't need to enter them again in the future.
